On the 7th, Nippon-Ham began their rookie joint voluntary training at their minor league facility in Kamagaya, Chiba. Outfielder Kane Edokpolo outfielder (Osaka Gakuin University), the team's second-round draft pick, has set improving his skills as his theme in order to secure a starting position.
He was particularly energetic, his voice echoing through the indoor training facility. After completing the first day of the rookie joint voluntary training, he reflected, "Since it was the first day, the training wasn't that intense, but we all spoke up and I think we had a good practice." When asked how tired he was, he laughed and said, "I'm totally ready now."
Although a fierce competition outfield is expected this season, he is enthusiastic, saying, "I don't think there is anyone who doesn't want to break the ice. My goal isn't to break the ice, but to break the ice and perform well." When asked what he will work on to achieve this, he said, "I think my physique is pretty good, but my technique is still lacking. I want to improve defense, batting, and base running."
