Takabe himself has had the desire to support children and their families who are battling cancer since he joined the team, inspired by his own experience as a family member battling cancer, and in December 2022 he began supporting childhood cancer. In the same year, he began donating 10,000 yen for each hit he made, based on his own performance. In the 2025 season, he donated 1,020,000 yen for having 102 hit.

Donations to the National Network for Supporting Children with Serious Illnesses is a program aimed at families with children with serious illnesses or disabilities. It creates opportunities for families in similar situations to exchange opinions and information, encourage each other, and focus on providing emotional care for families rather than providing direct financial support to families and children, creating opportunities to encourage them to live with their children.
