Rakuten Eagles 's 11 rookie players moved into the Izumi Inuwashi dormitory in Sendai city on the 5th. First-round draft pitcher Satoshi Fujiwara (Hanazono University) was unable to move in due to poor health.

Second-round draft pick right-handed pitcher Ito Itsuki of Waseda University brought a stuffed toy of his alma mater's official mascot, "Waseda Bear."
