Orix to wear Under Armour brand teamwear from 2026

On July 14, 2025, Orix announced that it had signed a partnership agreement with Dome Corporation (the exclusive distributor of Under Armour in Japan) and would be wearing Under Armour-branded teamwear from 2026.

Players, managers, coaches, and team staff will wear approximately 30 different Under Armour brand items as team wear, including practice shirts, jackets, and pants. In addition, the two companies will work together as business partners to increase fan loyalty and brand value.

This lineup incorporates Under Armour's high-performance technology. The shirts and pants in particular are lightweight and stretchy. The lineup has expanded to include not only short sleeves but also long sleeves and sleeveless tops, allowing athletes to choose the best clothing for the situation.

◇ Change of naming rights for Tohoku Rakuten Stadium

Rakuten baseball, Inc. has renewed its naming rights agreement with Miyagi Prefecture and Rakuten Group Inc. for a three-year period beginning in 2026. The nickname for the stadium will change from the current "Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi" to "Rakuten Mobile Saikyo Park Miyagi" from January 2026.

Chiba Lotte Marines acquires former Orioles left-handed pitcher

Chiba Lotte Marines announced the signing of pitcher Jose Castillo. Castillo is a 29-year-old left-handed pitcher who made his MLB debut in 2018. This season, he pitched in a total of 29 games for four teams: the Diamondbacks, Mets, Mariners, and Orioles, posting a record of 2 wins, 2 losses, 3 hold, and ERA of 3.94.

"He's a 198cm tall southpaw with a good amount of angle, and I was impressed by the sharpness of fastball, which exceeds 150km/h, and slider. He also has excellent control, so I'm looking forward to seeing him strike closer both left-handed right-handed hitter. He's a proven setup man in the MLB, and is known as an Ohtani killer, so I'm really looking forward to him. I think he'll really add depth to bullpen."
