On the 25th, Softbank Hawks announced that they had reached an agreement to renew their contract with Jeter Downs.

Downs commented through the team, "I'm looking forward to playing in front of our fans again next year. Let's win again."

In his second season this year, Downs played in 50 games, batting .226 Home Run and 18 RBI.
