The 29-year-old right-hander has been a key part of DeNA's starting rotation this season, posting a 10-7 record with a 2.33 ERA in 25 appearances. In his two seasons with DeNA, he posted a solid record as a starter with 50 appearances, 18 wins and 14 losses, and a 2.60 ERA, but was removed from the reserve list and became the target of a bidding war.

I want to do my best to contribute to winning the league championship and becoming the best team in Japan. I am excited to be able to build bonds with my teammates and fans."
