On the 16th, Nippon-Ham announced that they will be participating in the 2026 Japan-Taiwan baseball International Exchange Game, which will be held in February 2026. A joint press conference was held in Taipei, attended by acting GM Masao Kida and infielder Yuki Nomura.
Nomura commented, "I am very happy to be able to play in Taiwan again. My teammates, pitcher Ruei-Yang Gu Lin Rui-Yi-Lei Sun and Sun Yi-lei, are both great pitcher. There are many good pitcher in Taiwan, so I am looking forward to playing against them. I would like to try some sweet pitcher balls the next time I come to Taiwan. I want to put on an entertaining game for the Taiwanese fans, and as The Fighters, we will do our best to put on a good game."
Softbank Hawks will also be participating in the friendly games, playing against Taiwan's CITIC on the 25th and the Taiwan national team on the 26th, while Nippon-Ham will play against the Taiwan national team on the 27th and Taiwan's Wei Chuan on the 28th (both Taipei Dome).
Nippon-Ham also toured Taiwan in March this year, playing against Uni-President and China Trust at Taipei Dome. The team has two right-handed pitchers, Ruei-Yang Gu Lin and Yi-Lei Sun, who are candidates for the Taiwan national team, on its roster, so there is a possibility that they will face each other as opposing teams.
