outfielder Shota Hiranuma, who was drafted by Seibu Lions to join Orix Buffaloes, held a press conference at the team's facility in Maishima, Osaka. This season, he is known as the "Orix killer," recording the highest batting average of .344 in all games played against Orix Buffaloes Buffaloes. Although he is registered outfield, his ability to play any position except shortstop and center field is also a strength. Next season will be his 11th year as a pro, and he has yet to reach the required number of at-bats. "I haven't yet broken out of my shell since joining the pros. I want to make a name for myself," he said enthusiastically.

He is also an alumnus of Tsuruga Kehi, and seems to be conscious of his senior Nishikawa!? He will take over number "61" from Chano, who was also drafted and transferred to Seibu Lions but he said emphatically, "I want to perform well enough to take number 7. I want to achieve my career high in everything. That's all I'm thinking about."
