Orix 's Hiroya Miyagi

On the 15th, Orix Buffaloes Hiroya Miyagi pitcher Daiya Miyagi (24) announced that he will be changing his color for next season. Since Central League will also be introducing the DH system in 2027, next season's interleague games will likely be his last chance to bat. He also attended a meeting with Mizuno Corporation on the 5th of this month, where they decided to adopt lime green for the first time in their batting gloves.

"I think the interleague games will probably be my last (time at bat), so I chose a color that is the furthest thing from me (laughs)." Last year, he wore a white base with his usual pink accents, going hitless in three At Bat hit one Walk. In 2023, he recorded two hit in six At Bat. Aiming for hit in three years, he also expressed hope for the "new color effect," saying, "I'm going for an image somewhere between yellow and green. I think it will look cool."

On this day, he practiced independently at Maishima in Osaka. His professional gloves were blue and pink for home and away games, but he plans to change them to brown and cork brown, respectively. A playful spirit hidden within his seriousness. Keep an eye on the ace's "brilliance." (Osada Toru)
