Tamiya said, "I'm happy to be in that position with Fukuya. Fukuya interacts with me a lot, so we talk, but we're eight years apart in age, so he's not like an older brother. He's always looking out for me, so it's like he's like a mother. Yamazaki has set double-digit win as his goal for next season. Fushimi, who he had often paired with as a battery partner, has transferred to Hanshin Tigers.
