Nippon-Ham infielder Kotaro Kiyomiya (26) revealed for the first time on the 14th who his ideal wife would be. He attended a talk show with Imagawa at a wedding hall in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. In front of about 350 fans, when asked about his ideal wife, he said, "Tatsuya said something really nice the other day, she wants someone with a strong mentality," revealing that he agreed with his junior right-hander's opinion. He also shared his unique perspective as an athlete, saying, "baseball players travel to all kinds of places and don't spend much time together. I might move to a place where I don't have any friends, but I have to live there."

He also recently attended the wedding of his former Nippon-Ham Fighters teammate, The Giants Akira Tanaka, and gave a speech on behalf of his friends. "It was wonderful. I know I'm bragging, but I spoke well," he recalled. Regarding his own wedding, he said, "I want to spend a fortune on it," a comment befitting a player worth 100 million yen, which sent the audience into fits of laughter.

Next season will be his ninth year as a professional, and he will serve as the players' association president. "If I can hit 30 Home Run runs, I think we'll be able to win more games, so I want to contribute to the team with my long hits," he promised. (Haruki Kawakami)
