Lotte's Kakunaka reveals his plan to sell his house

Lotte outfielder Katsuya Kakunaka (38) attended contract renewal negotiations at Zozo on the 12th and after signing a contract for an annual salary of 60 million yen, a 6 million yen decrease, he revealed a shocking plan to sell his luxury home.

This season, he had a batting average of .167 with one Home Run and five RBI in 27 games. Early in the press conference, he looked philosophical, saying, "Of course the amount will go down. It didn't go down as much as I thought it would." However, towards the end, he spoke seriously about his tight financial situation, saying, "My annual salary has gone down, and paying taxes is a pain, so I'm thinking of selling my house. If you're interested, I'll sell it for about 1 billion yen. I wonder if anyone will buy it. I'll negotiate a price reduction from 1 billion yen. (The room is) about 110 square meters. It's a great location in the city center."

His annual salary reached a personal high of 141 million yen in 2017, and has been declining since then. In 2024 and 2025, it was 66 million yen. While considering where he will live in the future, he is preparing for his 20th year, where he hopes to make a comeback. (Ami Shunsuke)
