Lotte's new player announcement event was held at Lotte headquarters on the 11th.
First-round draft pick Genki Ishigaki (Kendai Takasaki High School) said enthusiastically, "I want to surprise everyone by throwing 170 km/h. No Japanese player has yet managed to throw 170 km/h, so I want to throw it and surprise the whole of Japan."
Manager Saburo encouraged the players, saying, "This draft was a very satisfying one for me. They will be becoming professional baseball players, and I'm sure it will be a difficult road, but I hope they can become part of the first team as soon as possible. Practice will be tough, but let's do our best." He also set a goal, saying, "My dream is to see all 10 of these players winning and winning the championship in a few years' time, pitching as regulars and aces on the first team."
