On the 9th, Rakuten Eagles announced that in the active player draft held on the same day Konosuke Tatsumi had transferred to Hiroshima and that they had acquired Naoki Sato from Softbank Hawks.
Tatsumi commented through the team, "I wasn't surprised because I thought it might happen. I have nothing but gratitude for all the Tohoku fans who have supported me so much over the past three years. I am truly disappointed that I wasn't able to show you how I perform well in the first team. I think that doing well in my next place will be a way to repay everyone's kindness, so please continue to support me when I go to Hiroshima."
Tatsumi joined Rakuten Eagles as the first pick in the 2022 development draft. In his first year in 2023, he was registered as a controlled player and played in two games for the first team in 2024, but was re-signed to a development contract last season. He was registered as a controlled player at the end of July but did not play in the first team. He played in 88 games for the farm team, batting .280 RBI and 31 stolen base.
