Seibu Lions Lions pitcher Mitsunari Takahashi, who is aiming to transfer to the majors using the posting system, participated in a talk show held in Tokyo on the 8th.
When asked by the moderator about the progress of his move to the majors, Takahashi laughed slightly and avoided making a clear answer, saying, "I don't know, I'm not sure yet..." but he did explain his current situation, saying, "I'll be playing baseball next year, so I'm training to play baseball as well."
During the talk show, Takahashi engaged in light-hearted conversation with teammate catcher Shoya Makino. He shared behind-the-scenes stories from the season, delighting the 108 fans in attendance. Takahashi greeted the fans, saying, "Thank you for your support over the past year. I don't know what my future holds yet, but I will let you all know once it's decided. I hope you will continue to support me." Makino also vowed to do his best next season, saying, "It was fun interacting with the fans. I will do my best to help the team win."
The charity donations collected on the day will be donated to the Japan Search and Rescue Dog Association, an NPO that Takahashi supports as part of his social contribution activities.
