Nippon-Ham pitcher Fukuya Yamazaki and catcher Yuya Gunji appeared at a special talk show for Nissin Foods' "Donbei" at a shopping center in Sapporo on the 6th.
The two were named the "handsome battery" by Gunji on the stage this season. Gunji explained, "We're a handsome battery, so that's all that matters. The word 'handsome' has a wide range of meanings, so interpretations vary from person to person. For example, 'handsome' in the heart." While Yamazaki is popular for his refreshing looks, Gunji calls himself "handsome in the heart."
Yamazaki, who had predicted she would wear a green happi coat, paired it with a red knit sweater, creating a red and green Donbei outfit. In addition to wearing glasses, which she doesn't show ground, she donned fox ears midway through the event and transformed into "Dongitsune." When Gunji saw her in the meeting, he said, "Sachi-san is amazing, destructive power. The fans will scream," and just as he had predicted, the fans erupted in cheers.
