Yakult Masaki Ishikawa pitcher (45) and Nippon-Ham Nao Miyanishi pitcher (40), a veteran left-handed baseball duo, participated in the "CLUB MIZUNO Yumeball Talk Live" held at Mizuno Osaka Chayamachi in Kita-ku, Osaka City on April 4.

The two have been playing in the NPB for a long time, but as they are in different leagues, they have only exchanged pleasantries until now. The first time they had a proper conversation was at a Mizuno event held in December last year. Ishikawa revealed, "I remember talking in the bathroom last year," and Miyanishi recalled with a wry smile, "We met in the bathroom and thought it was a chance. At that time, I asked him about how to stay in shape as you get older while we were in the bathroom." He also received advice from Ishikawa on the importance of running, and Miyanishi said, "I have my own answers, but I get anxious because I don't have a senior. It feels like I'm checking the answers by asking Ishikawa or someone like that. We were in the same league, so I think it made sense. I thought (the bathroom) was the best place to be open about it," drawing laughter from the fans.

Ishikawa said, "It was the first time I'd ever been asked that question in the bathroom, so I remember it clearly." He had a lively discussion about baseball with Miyanishi that day, saying, "I was really inspired by him, and he wanted to ask me what kind of practice I was doing. I could tell he respected me, so it gave me the strength to work even harder." He looked very satisfied.

Miyanishi laughed and said, "The timing was so unexpected that it just happened to happen in the bathroom. We just talked in the bathroom. I actually wanted to talk in a different place for as long as time allowed." However, he nodded and said, "I don't have any older seniors on The Fighters, so in that sense I'm grateful for this opportunity. Even though it was a talk show today, we talked personally and he answered my questions, so it was a talk show that was beneficial to me as well."
