Orix Buffaloes On April 4, Tomoya Mori catcher signed a contract at the team's facility in Maishima, Osaka, for 400 million yen, the same amount as the current contract (estimated). I couldn't do anything to help the team.

He struggled with injuries this season, including a right hamstring injury, and played just 50 games, his worst total in his third year since transferring from Seibu Lions as a free agent. His batting average was just .25, and his one Home Run and 14 RBI were both his lowest numbers ever. In November, he volunteered to participate in the Kochi camp, which is primarily for young players. Following on from last offseason, he plans to train independently with Tonmiya and others in Miyakojima, Okinawa in January. "I'm going to get my body in shape again for next year, and I'm going to keep that fighting spirit and determination going from December onwards," he said, showing his resolve.

Next season will be the final year of his four-year contract. "If I get too hung up on the numbers, I will feel a lot of pressure myself. I will always have a fighting spirit. Then the numbers will follow," he emphasized.
