On the 3rd, Lotte announced that pitcher Yuki Karakawa and Tokito Kawamura pitcher participated in a childhood cancer support project as part of their social contribution project "MARINES LINKS."

The "Childhood Cancer Support Project" supports children battling childhood cancer, their siblings and families, and medical institutions specializing in the pediatric oncology field, by having the players visit hospitals and inviting them to the ballpark. This time, the players visited Narita Red Cross Hospital, where they met with children battling cancer via baseball, took commemorative photos, and presented gifts to the children.

At the end of the interaction with the children, Karakawa gave a message to the participating children, saying, "We players draw strength from everyone's support and do our best in every game. Today, Kawamura and I came to see you all. And Chiba Lotte Marines players are always cheering you on. Don't forget that, and continue to challenge yourself in various ways. Thank you for today!"

"MARINES LINKS" is a social contribution project in which the team, together with partner companies, supports social contribution activities led by The Marines players. The name "MARINESLINKS" reflects the desire to "LINK" (meaning to connect) everyone associated with Chiba Lotte Marines including fans, local residents, government agencies, and partner companies, with The Marines players at the center.

"The children all seemed nervous at first, but gradually they relaxed and started throwing the ball around with us, showing their smiles, which made me happy. I would like to take part in another activity like this if there is another opportunity."

"When the nurses at the hospital saw the children who participated this time, they said, 'I've never seen smiles like that!' so I was happy that I was able to help the children even a little."
