Rakuten of Yuya Ogo outfielder (29) participated in a talk show at the Aeon Mall Ishinomaki in Miyagi Prefecture on March 30, along with Yukiya Ito infielder (29), who is the same age as him. They appeared in this season's fan club uniforms with dark gray as the main color, in honor of Black Friday.
Ogo revealed a secret story he had with Ito. It happened a few years ago, but he said, "There was a time when Ito would always make an error if Ito told me not to make an error. Since then, I've told him to really stop saying that."
When asked about this season, he said, "I don't want to look back, so I'll do my best next year." He was given a big round of applause from the roughly 200 fans watching the stage. Last season, he was the only player out of the 12 teams to play every full inning in every game, but this season he played in 90 games, with a batting average of .173, 12 RBI, and two Home Run. It was a disappointing season. Regarding his off-season, he said, "I haven't done anything this year, so I'm trying not to take too much time off. I'm going to keep practicing until camp starts on February 1st." He'll be 30 next season, but he still can't afford to lose to the younger players. He'll keep practicing until he can establish himself as a regular again.
