Orix 's first draft pick, pitcher Atsuya Fujikawa (18) from Nobeoka Gakuen, is taking on the professional world without a fashion statement. On the 29th, the day after his rookie press conference, he toured the team's facilities in Maishima, Osaka. "The training room is amazing. The facilities are solid, so I can always be in the best condition," he said with a sparkle in his eyes.

A right-handed pitcher from Iizuka City, Fukuoka, with a top speed of 153 km/h. "I don't have any desire to grow my hair out. If it's good to grow it out, I might, but I don't have any particular preferences," he said, continuing to keep his head shaved even after retiring from high school baseball. In January, he will begin living in Osaka for the first time in his life, but baseball remains at the forefront of his mind. "I don't have any preferences when it comes to clothes or anything, so I guess I'll have to be more particular about it... (laughs). baseball is my number one priority, so I want to spend more time on baseball than on the glittering places (in the city)," he said, looking straight ahead.

There is an anecdote about former team member Ichiro, who lived in a dormitory in Kobe as a young player and would stay up until 1 a.m. after games to hit the ball on the machine. When asked about this by the press, Fujikawa said, "I'm also the type who likes to spend a long time preparing. Being able to practice as soon as an idea strikes me is really great," and vowed to pursue his dreams with stoicism. (Nambu Shunta)

The third overall pick in the draft, Ryuzuki Sato pitcher (18) = Kentai Takasaki, met for the first time with his idol Miyagi. He toured the team's facilities with Fujikawa and others and greeted them in the training room. He said, "He said, 'I'm looking forward to working with you from now on. I could sense an aura that was different from others, and I really wanted to work hard to become that kind of player. The 147-kilogram fastest left fielder has been in the habit of taking notes since high school, and he plans to bring his "baseball notebook" with him when he joins the professional ranks. Miyagi has been my target for a long time, so I want to ask him everything he can teach me. I will write down what he taught me and look back on it at night.
