"The biggest problem was my injury. I realized I needed to face my body again."
Lotte's Hiromi Oka had been achieving career-high batting results until last season, but this season he was sidelined due to injury and played in 65 games, with a batting average of .274, Home Run, 18 RBI, and an OPS of .726.
This offseason, he said, "I want to improve not only my body balance, but also my batting. I'd like to work on my swing speed and weight training, and also train my running again."
Looking ahead to next season, he said, "My average OPS is definitely my goal. I haven't had many At Bat this year, but it was 7, so I'd like to definitely raise that to 8 or 9." He also stated his determination, saying, "I want to make an impression with my running, hitting and defense, and I just want to produce results on ground and put up numbers."
