Lotte pitcher Rikuto Yokoyama Yokoyama attended contract renewal negotiations on the 27th and signed a contract for an annual salary of 58 million yen (estimated amount), an increase of 20 million yen from this season.
In his sixth year as a professional, he pitched in 50 games this season, recording two wins, four losses, 12 ERA of 2.08. During the offseason, it was announced that he would inherit number 15 jersey from Manabu Mima second-division pitcher coach who retired at the end of this season.
Yokoyama said, "I want to win a title, so I'm aiming to be the saves leader. For the past two or three years, I've been out of the first team in May due to May sickness, so if I can get over that and perform well throughout the year, I think I'll be able to get closer to that title. Of course, 40 saves is my goal, but I won't even come close unless I get at least 30 saves. I'd like to set myself at 30 saves and put myself in a position to aim for the title."
