Seibu left-handed pitcher Sinclair (24), in his second year in the development team, has vowed to secure a left-handed relief position next season.

He is a 193cm tall left-handed pitcher who joined the team as the first pick in the 2011 development draft. Because of his long limbs, he has struggled with control this season, saying, "I have a habit of using my body too much, which makes my control unstable."

In late May, he began one-on-one training, trusting farm team pitcher coach Hayato Aoki (48) when he said, "There's definitely something hidden within me." "He came up with drills to increase my range of motion, and drills that focused on pitching techniques that opened up the finer parts of my body. He made me realize things I wouldn't have realized otherwise," he said. He steadily made progress, and in the autumn Miyazaki Phoenix League, he made a big leap, pitching eight inning in seven games, allowing no runs strike out five Walk, striking out 12 batters. Since turning pro, he's mostly played in struck out string games, and said, "I haven't had many opportunities to pitch against pros over the past two years, but getting so many strikeouts and strikeouts against them was a great feeling. It was good to see that my pitches were effective against pros."

He is scheduled to depart on the same day for the winter league, which he volunteered to take part in and will be held in Okinawa from the 22nd. His theme remains "control." This season, Seibu has had left-handed reliever Haneda and Sasaki appear in first-team games, but they have not yet established themselves. "First of all, I need to aim for that first-team left-handed reliever position. I hope that by using what I've done in Phoenix and producing results in the winter league, people will have high expectations of me from next year's training camp onwards." He sets foot on Okinawa with a strong resolve as he enters his third competitive year of development.
