Nippon-Ham pitcher Kyosuke Kuroyanagi renewed his contract with ESCON on the 20th for an estimated 7.7 million yen, an increase of 1.2 million yen.

He was promoted in September this season and pitched in five games as a relief pitcher. He made his presence felt with a 1.80 ERA thanks to his powerful fastball. He also pitched in the final S of the CS, closer out all three batters in the first inning.

Hanyanagi said, "I told him that I want to compete next year with reliever, because I'm the type of person who wants to throw every day. I think it suits my pitch style as well. Next year, I want to do my best to be able to play in the first team for one year."

He was drafted in 2021, the same year as Tatsuya, Fukushima, Yanagawa, and others. "I watched Tatsuya, Yanagawa, and Fukushima do well in Kamagaya, so I always felt very jealous. On the other hand, having people like that around me helps me improve, and I have a lot of rivals in my year who I can motivate, so I think I'm playing baseball in a really good environment," he said.
