On the 14th, Orix Buffaloes pitcher Yasuto Takashima attended contract renewal negotiations at the Seitokan training camp in Maishima, Osaka, and signed for 24 million yen, an increase of 4 million yen (estimated amount). "I was told that next year I should establish myself firmly in any position and contribute to the team's win," he recalled.

In his second season, he made the opening rotation for the first time, and in the third game of the season against Rakuten on March 30th (Kyocera Dome Osaka), runs one run in five innings and earned his first win. However, in his fifth game as a starter Rakuten on May 4th (Rakuten Mobile Park), he gave up four runs in one 0/3 inning, and was removed from the active roster the following day, May 5th.

After re-registration on June 10th, he showed his presence as reliever. Mainly as a long relief when behind, he showed a unique function, such as throwing up to 5 inning. "I don't think it's a position that everyone can do, but it was rewarding in that regard," he concluded. However, on the other hand, he does not intend to be satisfied with his current position, saying, "If I want to throw long, I want to throw as a starter, and if it's reliever, it's better to closer 1 inning in a good situation."

The right-handed pitcher is popular with female fans, nicknamed "the prince from princes," a reference to the team he played for during his time as a professional player. "I want to break into the starting lineup. I want to have a season where I can significantly increase the number of games reliever, and the number of wins as a starter," he said enthusiastically.
