◆ Able tryouts (12th, Mazda Stadium)
The Japan Professional baseball Players Association hosted the "Able Tryouts 2025 - Challenge, Go Beyond," with 38 players participating. Development pitcher Kyuta Kazama, who was released from Softbank, threw 10 pitches to three hitter, hit no hits and one Walk. His fastest pitch was 143 km/h. "I gave it my all, so I have no regrets," he reflected.
"I felt like this was my last time, and I was able to throw with a really good feeling. I don't know what will happen in the future, but I want to live a life without regrets so that I can repay the kindness of everyone who has helped me up until now."
He joined Softbank as the first pick in the 2021 draft from Meiso (Akita). He was a promising right-handed pitcher with a top speed of 157 km/h, but he injured his right elbow and lower back and re-signed as a development player in November last year. However, he failed to produce notable results this season and was released from the roster for the second consecutive year.
Also participating on this day was Hanshin Tigers 's development pitcher, Moriki Daichi, who was known as one of the "High School Big 3."
"It was actually the first time we'd met, so I ended up speaking to him in polite language... I hope we can continue to work hard and improve ourselves, and that we can both say to each other, 'We had a great baseball career.'"
Both are waiting for an offer and aim to continue playing.
