Softbank 's infielder Ukyo Shuto won the Mitsui Golden Glove Award in outfielder category, and infielder Taisei Makihara won the Mitsui Golden Glove Award in the second baseman category.

Shuto is the fourth player from the development team in Pacific League to receive the award for the second consecutive year. "It was one of my goals. I feel very happy to be recognized by the people around me. I wasn't doing well until April and May, but I was able to defend better than I expected in the second half," he said with delight.

This is Makihara Dai's first time receiving the award in 15 years. He is the fifth player from the Pacific League development team to do so since Shuto. Because he boasts high physical abilities and has been valued as a utility player who can play both infield and outfield, he has not previously won the award. This season, he has also cleared the required number of at-bats for the first time, making it a welcome double win for him as the leading hitter.
