Softbank has made top-secret contact with Taiwanese professional baseball (CPBL) Ajichuan Xu Luoqi pitcher (25), it was learned on May 5. He is the fastest 158-kilogram right arm that has been under full-scale investigation as the centerpiece of the reinforcement. The team met with Xu, who had arrived in Fukuoka by this day, and launched a "preemptive strike" to acquire him.
Xu, the ace pitcher for the Wei Chuan Tigers, had also publicly announced that he had applied for free agency through the CPBL.
