It was revealed on the 30th that Nippon-Ham will be undergoing major renovations to their second-division facility in Kamagaya, Chiba, at a total cost of 400 million yen. A new weight training facility will be constructed, and the indoor practice facility will be equipped with the cutting-edge virtual batting practice machine "Traject Arc." A team executive explained, "Although we have announced the relocation of our farm team, we will not neglect our focus on Kamagaya, our development base. We will raise the level of player development." Although it has been decided that the second-division will be relocated to Hokkaido around 2030, the team will also spare no expense in investing in Kamagaya.
The weight room, which was previously located in the dormitory, will be newly built next to the indoor practice facility. A lab including equipment for the scientific motion analysis system "sports biomechanics" is also planned to be built there, and completion is scheduled for May next year. The area will be 400 square meters, about double the current size, and the number of training equipment is expected to double.
The team plans to introduce one "Traject" unit in early March next year. It can reproduce the speed and movement of a pitch while displaying an image of pitcher. The Giants and Softbank Hawks have already introduced the system, and Ohtani of the Dodgers is also using it. There have been many requests from players, and the team's executives have decided to introduce it, saying, "It's necessary for the development of the team." This marks the addition of a new weapon to the Shinjo-Ham Fighters.
