◆Pre-season game: Nippon-Ham 2-0 Seibu Lions (4th, Escon)
Nippon-Ham Fighters manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo apologized for the speed display.
This was the first game of the season at ESCON, but due to adjustments being made, the pitch speed was not displayed in the stadium until the fourth inning.
Manager Shinjo spoke at the beginning of the post-game interview, saying with a wry smile, "I told Rakuten Eagles to do a good job with the speed gun, but it didn't come out until the fourth inning of the first Ace Combat today. I feel sorry for Seibu Lions. I told them I wanted them to do it properly. I'm sure Seibu Lions pitcher would have wanted to know how fast the ball was at this time of year. We'll do it properly, I'm sorry."
On February 15th, during a practice game against Rakuten Eagles (Kin Town), the manager criticized the speed gun, which was showing a speed about 10 kilometers slower than the normal speed, saying, "I want that speed gun to be fixed properly. If it were me, I would say something right away. If it was wrong, I wouldn't let it go. This is professional baseball, after all."
